Mariana Islands - Latte Stones Highlighted in The Mariana Islands (Marche, 1982)

These images (adjusted for viewing quality and image size) are featured in Antoine-Alfred Marche's The Mariana Islands on page 44. According to the publication, "These photographs were taken in early November of 1888."

The publication goes on to say that Marche relates, "The photos taken on this island at the beginning of my voyage had deteriorated because of the humidity and were completely ruined. I felt it necessary to retake those of the monuments which I have described...."
